Angora/Merino Yarn

50/50 English angora/merino yarn.  This soft angora blend yarn was custom millspun from a mixture of the long-staple angora wool from our own, pampered herd of English angora rabbits and an equally luxurious merino wool (imported).  Do not confuse this yarn with much of the commercially available angora, as the staple length used in this blend is long and much less prone to shedding.
This is a 3-ply yarn and the weight is approximately 1360 yards per pound.  Wraps per inch equal about 13; a sett of 6-7 epi is suggested.
For knitting, a gauge of about six stitches per inch and 8.5 rows per inch on size 3 needles is suggested for stockinette stitch.  Falls into the category of sport weight yarn.
This yarn ships rather smooth-looking, but quickly develops the soft halo characteristic of English angora as it is worked (knitted).  The photo shows the soft halo your garments will exhibit.  Color is Light Cream, an off-white, NOT a pure white.
Made in U.S.A. from domestic angora 50% and imported merino wool 50%.
